Thoroughly explain and evaluate the Service Infrastructure APIs.
In the summer and fall of 2024, we did a detailed exploration of Service Infrastructure that included creating a command-line tool q and a website serviceio.dev that documented Service Infrastructure.
Pros
- The Service Infrastructure APIs are powerful and low-cost.
Cons
- These APIs are proprietary to GCP. While they could be reimplemented, "would anyone want to?" is a valid question.
- The poor condition of the two Google proxies limits the usefulness of Service Infrastructure.
